Become a Member of San Diego Audubon

San Diego Audubon is a regional leader in the protection of birds, wildlife, and their habitats. If you share our desire to protect local habitats and safeguard San Diego as a beautiful place for both people and wildlife, we invite you to become a member of San Diego Audubon.

Whether you make a yearly or monthly commitment, your generosity will protect birds, other wildlife, and their habitats here in San Diego.


Membership Benefits

In addition to knowing you are making a difference for our region’s natural world, benefits of being a member include:

  • Subscription to our beautiful magazine, Sketches (4 quarterly issues per year)
  • Members-only days at our nature sanctuaries Anstine-Audubon and Silverwood
  • Early-bird registration to the annual San Diego Bird Festival and selected outings
  • Invitations to special supporter events and activities
  • Members-only discounts to select educational classes and workshops

There are many ways to give. We offer sustaining monthly membership, annual membership, and even gift membership options! Keep reading for more information.

Give Monthly: Join at the California Least Tern level to become a member of San Diego Audubon. This gift option allows you to make monthly recurring gifts while providing San Diego Audubon with reliable and consistent support. A recurring monthly gift of $5 or more entitles you to all the benefits of membership.

Give Annually: With a minimum annual contribution of $45, you can become a member of San Diego Audubon Society. You can join for one year at a time, or set your membership to auto-renew. Choose from one of the annual membership options below.

1. Why I should be become a member?

As a member of SDAS, you will be at the forefront of conservation here in San Diego. Your membership supports the preservation of our precious biodiversity, the conservation of habitats necessary for birds and other wildlife, and the ongoing advocacy work we do for our environment. You will also receive members-only perks and invitations to exclusive events held throughout the year.

2. Is there a minimum gift amount to qualify for membership benefits?
The Hummingbird level of $45 entitles you to all membership benefits. We ask that you consider other giving levels to best support our work in protecting our region’s birds and other wildlife.

3. Can I renew my membership automatically?

Yes, you can choose the “automatically renew” option when you sign up online for an annual membership. Each year, your credit card will be automatically charged to keep your membership active. An email reminder will be sent before the renewal, and you can cancel at anytime.

4. How do I become a Sustaining Member?
Provide SDAS with reliable and consistent support as a Sustaining Member by signing up to give a recurring gift of $5 or more each month. To do this, fill out the Monthly Giving form online here.

5. What methods of payment are acceptable?
We accept payments via ACH, Apply Pay, Google Pay, debit card, or credit card. If you would prefer to donate via check, please mail it to our office at 4010 Morena Blvd, Suite 100 | San Diego, CA 92117. Please indicate "Membership" on the memo line.
