Jo's ultimate goal in life is to build connections for people and nature and to share in the joy that comes with conserving and restoring native habitats for plants and animals. After completing her first degree in nutrition sciences, Jo's passions grew for understanding the foundation for sustainable food systems - healthy and thriving biodiverse ecosystems. She went on to complete her second degree from Oregon State University, this time in environmental science - applied ecology. Post graduation, June ’23, Jo quickly moved south to San Diego with a desire to experience more sunny days and to explore the biodiversity hotspot that is SD county. Jo can be found during her free time exploring all the natural areas that San Diego has to offer, binoculars in hands with google, Merlin Bird ID, and Cornell's “all about birds” search on the ready.
