Composting with Worms Workshop 1 of 2
Composting with Worms
Course in two sessions:
Zoom Session October 19 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Live Session at Anstine Audubon Preserve October 21 9:30 to 11:00 am
San Diegans have been introduced to composting with the new municipal green bin program, but have you ever considered how you could compost from your own kitchen? Worm composting is an easy and accessible way to start your composting journey. This type of composting is ideal for folks who live in apartments, who don't have a lot of time to dedicate to traditional backyard composting, or who just want to have some worm friends in their kitchen!
We'll cover the basics in a Zoom lecture- how worm composting works, how to build a bin, and what to do with castings (a.k.a worm poop)! Then, join us at Anstine Audubon Preserve where we'll build simple worm bins out of paint buckets. We'll send you home with everything you need to start composting, including your very own worms!
This workshop is led by Molly Morrissey, a long time volunteer with SDAS and part of the education team. And, a worm composting enthusiast
Your course fee includes your own worm composting bin, complete with worms, so you can get started right away.
