Love Your Wetlands Day x Community Climate Action Day - San Diego
Join us for the return of Love Your Wetlands Day, the annual opportunity to explore the Kendall-Frost Marsh and participate in hands-on activities to explore, learn about and protect Mission Bay's wetlands!
This year, San Diego Audubon and UCSD Natural Reserve System are partnering with California Climate Action Corps! On top of being able to explore the marsh, community members will have the opportunity to take action in the City-wide movement to address the climate crisis.
Activities will take place throughout the day and are family friendly:
-Guided marsh and kayak clean ups
-Booths from environmental organizations
-Educational presentations by local scientists
-Speeches by elected officials, and cultural activities with Indigenous leaders
The event will run from 9 am – 4 pm, event check-in begins at 8:30 am. Register with the link below!
The link will take you to a California Volunteers landing page where you'll be able to specify whether you'd like to attend Love Your Wetlands Day or participate as a Community Climate Action Day Volunteer. Can't decide? The good news is, you can do both! Climate Action Day activities will take place between 10 am and 12 pm. San Diego Audubon will be hosting a native planting and seed collection activity on site.
We'll also have a registration table set up for those who choose to come at the last minute. We encourage all attendees to be vaccinated and to have received booster shots.
