Birding Outings: Dairy Mart Pond/Tijuana River Valley
Join Palomar Audubon Society on a field trip! This is a drop-in event, no prior registration required.
Directions: From North County, take the I-15 south and merge with the I-5 south to the Dairy Mart Road Exit. Turn right on Dairy Mart Rd. (south). Continue a very short distance and meet at the dirt parking lot on your right just before the concrete bridge and next to the large “TJRV County Park” sign with the pond on the west side of Dairy Mart Road. We will also caravan a short distance to the TJRV Park Headquarters (public restroom and bird feeders) and then visit the nearby Bird & Butterfly Gardens where we might see the elusive Black-throated Magpie Jay. No restrooms at Dairy Mart Pond and ones at Bird & Butterfly are usually closed.
