Afternoon Beach Walk to the Mouth of the Tijuana River
Google Maps: Seacoast Drive, GPS: 32.5666, -117.1324
Leaders: Peter Thomas and others.

This is a nice walk along the beach, starting from the southernmost end of Seacoast Drive in Imperial Beach, and proceeding south to the mouth of the Tijuana River. We will look for remaining winter shorebirds and those birds that have arrived for the Summer. Special target birds will be Least Terns and Western Snowy Plovers. Finding the bits of kelp, mollusks, and other marine life that have washed up along the shore is an added attraction.
A requirement for participation at this point is being more than 2 weeks beyond the second vaccination (Pfizer/Moderna) or the single dose (Johnson and Johnson) at the time of the trip. Recent CDC recommendations do not currently require masks.
Capped at 8 participants.
