Endangered Species Day at BV Lagoon - May 20, 10:00 – 2:00 Buena Vista Audubon Nature Center
Come join in fun and educational activities at this year’s Endangered Species Day! Families are invited to attend the free event in Oceanside, May 20, 10:00-2:00. Activities range from dissecting owl pellets to viewing small organisms in lagoon water, from learning about local endangered flora and fauna, to creating your own nature journal. Special guests this year include the Paa’ila Basket Weavers, who will instruct children in how to weave a Cherokee single wall twine basket. Tom Troy will lead an “Intro to Birding” talk and walk at 10:30 a.m. In addition, Project Wildlife will bring live bats and share information about this amazing species. Sponsored by Buena Vista Audubon and Preserve Calavera, it will be held at Buena Vista Audubon Nature Center, 2202 So. Coast Hwy, Oceanside. Parking is limited. Please walk, carpool, or use nearby street parking. No registration necessary.
