Birding Outings: Torrey Pines at Flintkote Ave
Come with us to explore the riparian corridor that turns into the Los Penasquitos Lagoon estuary behind Torrey Pines State Park. This rich and diverse habitat provides food and nesting places for a great variety of birds, from those that inhabit the marshes and the forests, to some that nest in the hollowed out caves on the backs of the sandstone cliffs of the park. Expect to hear and see yellow-breasted chats and ash-throated flycatchers, as well as egrets and herons. The trail is mostly unpaved with little elevation change and will cover about 3 miles total.
