Bird Walks: El Monte County Park
El Monte County Park on the road to El Capitan Reservoir and Dam is a wonderful 88 acre park with spectacular views of the “Monte” – El Capitan. There is a mixture of grassy lawns, native oaks, and chapparal slopes. Birds that we hope to spy include Wild Turkey, Barn Owl, California Thrasher, and some of the migrants that spend the winter in our County. Restrooms available. Capped at 12 participants.
On-line registration is required. Caps on the number of participants on each outing are specified. COVID-19 Requirements: You must be more than 2 weeks beyond your second vaccination (Pfizer/Moderna) or the single dose (Johnson and Johnson) at the time of the trip. A mask is not mandatory as of now, but any guidelines in place at the time of the outing will be followed.
