Kit Carson Park is a multi-use recreation site on the southern side of the city of Escondido. A creek flows southward through willow and sycamore woodland, grass lawns with scattered trees, and a small pond at its center. Birding here is good all year long, and is aided by a good network of trails. Hawks, woodpeckers, ducks, warblers, bluebirds, and sparrows are among the birds to be seen. Easy walking. Restrooms
available. Capped at 8 participants.

A requirement for participation at this point is being more than 2 weeks beyond the second vaccination (Pfizer/Moderna) or the single dose (Johnson and Johnson) at the time of the trip. Recent CDC recommendations do not currently require masks. On-line registration is required. See the SDAS website.
