Photo Submissions for 2023 Festival
CALL FOR PHOTOS!
Each year, we put out a call to local photographers for images of San Diego birds to use for the San Diego Bird Festival. Most of the images will be used in social media postings and on the festival website. Three of these images will be selected to be printed as very large banners and hung in the festival venue during the festival, Feb 22-26, 2023. At least one image will be selected for use in advertising in nationally recognized birding magazines. At least one image may be selected for use on the festival t-shirt.
Submission Guidelines:
- Content should focus on bird life, or on humans enjoying birding. Please choose photos featuring birds that are commonly seen in San Diego during the month of February.
- Please crop your photos the way you would like them to appear. We will not alter your photos without obtaining permission first.
- Photos should be in jpg format, and resolution should be at least 300 dpi (higher resolution preferred)
- Ensure the filename for your photo includes the name of species in the photo and your name as you like it credited. (eg Long-Billed Curlew_Jane Smith)
- You may include your watermark on your images. Please place it as you would like it to appear.
- Upload your images to this google drive link.
After the festival is over, the photos will be transferred to our image library and may be used by SDAS for other purposes. Please let us know if you prefer not to have your images added to the library.
Submit before August 1, 2022.
Please contact bswersie at cox.net if you have a question.
