In response to COVID-19 and to ensure the safety of our flock, all local birding trips are being operated under strict guidelines.
San Diego Audubon Bird Walks introduce newer birders, visiting birders, and anyone else who is interested to the varied habitats and avian inhabitants of San Diego County. Everyone is welcome, however, we are following precautions to avoid the spread of COVID-19. Attendance is restricted to 8 participants, and all participants must wear masks, avoid sharing equipment, and stay socially distanced from one another.
Bring binoculars, your scope, water, sunscreen, hat, and enthusiasm. Sign up by clicking on the field trip you would like to join. Hit the orange "Register Now" button and let us know how many are in your group.
If you have questions about Bird Walks in general, or would like to volunteer to lead a monthly bird walk, contact Jen Hajj. If you have questions about a particular walk for which you are signed up, contact the walk leader at the email address given in the confirmation email.
Online advanced registration is required for all trips. Because space is limited, we will open registration for the next month's trip the day following the trip in the present month (For example, registration for the Tecolote Canyon trip on the last Saturday of May will open the last Sunday of April).
Confirmation of your registration and additional information (if applicable) will be sent to you by email immediately following your registration.

Birding at our wildlife preserves
Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary is open to the public on Sundays from 9 am to 4 pm, October through July, reservation required. Guided nature walks are on hiatus due to COVID concerns.
Anstine-Audubon Nature Preserve is a North County birding hot-spot and is open to the public Saturdays, 9am-12pm, reservation required.
