T9A Raptor Identification Workshop

Birds of prey, or raptors, are one of the most fascinating and mysterious bird groups.  We easily relate to them because they are widely distributed and have been part of Man’s history since time immemorial. They have been used to hunt with and have been hunted themselves because of myths and for their beautiful feathers and human food. Raptor identification is the subject of this workshop, with an ample sprinkling of history, taxonomy, and conservation. Dr. Jeff Lincer will be the presenter for this exciting workshop. Jeff will share some of the facts and mystery of raptors with you that he has learned over the last 40 years. He is the Executive Director of a non-profit organization in San Diego, called Researchers Implementing Conservation Action (RICA) and a Research Associate of the San Diego Museum of Natural History.
