Birding By Ear Workshop

Great Horned Owl by Karen StrausHow many times have you tried to see a bird with an obscured or distant view, and could not be certain of the species? Learning to identify birds by their songs and calls may help. Most land birds are easily identified by their sounds. This course is intended for birders who have some basic knowledge of visual identification of common chaparral birds and wish to improve their birding skills. The workshop will be held in the classroom and on the trail at the Tecolote Nature Center and taught by Hank Ingersoll. Hank is an avid birder and the past president of San Diego Field Ornithologists.
