OutdoorExplore! Habitat Helpers
The OutdoorExplore! nature education program, in collaboration with the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department, is excited to start a new stewardship program this spring called Habitat Helpers. Habitat Helpers, or participating students, will be get their hands dirty and contribute to the restoration of our City open spaces by planting and caring for native plants. This activity will teach local schoolchildren about our local plant life, promote stewardship and conservation activities, and connect students to these natural places long after our weekly visits have concluded. We are confident that this additional stewardship component will not only strengthen the educational value of our program for students, but forever connect each child to their piece of nearby nature
